Achacoso The CLSP Gazette is a semestral Newsletter of the Canon Law Society of the Philippines. Fr.Javier Gonzáles, its first Editor-in-Chief, expresses the reason for being of the CLSP Gazette thus: "the ends that the CLSP intends to serve is not only to consolidate our identity as Society but also to identify some of the fields of the new code that need attention:... justice and fairness in Church juridical practice, effective ministry, a deeper appreciation of the law that, in Christ Jesus, is life-giving, a strengthening of that special bond of respect and friendship that we treasure as members of the Society." Since 1995, the CLSP Gazette has been fulfilling this end. It is now sent regularly to canon lawyers-both members and non-members of the CLSP-, Bishops, chanceries, and, lately, seminary libraries. In these pages, we shall be posting-corresponding to each published issue of the Gazette-the cover and the articles of more historical relevance-i.e., those that show the life and activity of the Society and its members.
