paper treats the role of the clergy in politics. Just as the
Church is so important that it should not be left in the hands
of churchmen alone, so also politics is too im-portant a matter
to be left in the hands of politicians alone. Philippine politics
conditions and shapes the life of our nation so deeply that any
person or institution concerned with the welfare of our country
must also be concerned with the way politics is presently conducted
here. "

Paper on Financial Transparency
"Every
now and then, we hear news concerning a church worker involved
in some sort of embezzlement of funds in the parish. Another
priest does not iclude a part of the earnings of the parish in
his financial reports to his Local Ordinary. Certain parishes
employ "window dressing" in their financial reports
as submitted to the diocesan oeconomus, etc. "
